“Know that we are here, standing shoulder-to-shoulder to withstand whatever the weeks and months ahead may bring us.”
Dear Valued Customer & Partner,
‘Planet Earth is shutting down’… was the alarming headline published in an article in The Economist this week.
Little over a week ago, we at Rochdale Spears were fully on track for hitting our customer and growth targets for 2020; a significant achievement for us following a challenging 12-month period in which we have successfully transformed our business model. It is safe to say that the rate of change we are experiencing in the world right now is unprecedented.
Thankfully, our lean mindedness over the past year coupled with careful Business Continuity Planning and a proactive cost reduction plan, means that we will be notably better positioned to weather the foreseeable storm in the coming months. Rochdale Spears is a company founded on the opportunity of new markets, and on the other side of this saddening crisis, I am convinced that we will see a number of exciting new growth opportunities arise.
Looking back over the past 20 years, we have grown substantially; we are experts in the trade, we know our customers and the market. All of the relationships we have cultivated over the past two decades are extremely important to us and I am deeply heartened by the commitment and perseverance that the furniture and interiors community are demonstrating to come together to work through these extraordinary times.
As we now extend our concerns from employee safety and our supply chain through to customer order flow; with the mutual support from our partners in the coming months, I am confident that we at Rochdale Spears can demonstrate the necessary resilience to withstand this momentous challenge, and emerge from the other side even stronger with even deeper relationships with our strategic partners.
Be assured that our commitment and responsibility towards taking care of our customers, partners and employees has never been stronger, than it is now in the face of this pandemic. Now, more than ever, everyone in the business has a vital part to play; we will remain calm but proactive in decision-making, we will sharpen further our focus on helping our customers, and most importantly we will remain resolute in supporting one another through these difficult and unpredictable times.
Thank you for your continued support – please know that we are here, standing shoulder-to-shoulder to withstand whatever the weeks and months ahead may bring us, and also to join you in celebrating when we make it through to the other side – together as one.
Yours sincerely,
Geoff Hawkes
